SAPA - NORTH VIETNAM

The following images are a collection of Indigenous People who reside in Sapa 

which is situated in the Northern part of Vietnam. The images consist of the 

Hmong, red Zao and white zao tribes who originated from China, who still dress in their traditional attire and have not succumbed to the western style of living.

                                      

                                

It is traditional for this particular tribe who originate from China  to colour their teeth black once girls have reached puberty, they colour their teeth using a root from a tree.  This is part of their culture, it also represents beauty
